JOB PURPOSE:

The Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) in the nursing continuous professional development unit (NCPD) unit serves as a clinical expert, educator, and leader to support and enhance the delivery of patient care. The CRN is responsible for providing guidance and resources to nursing staff, promoting best practices, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and standards. This role involves direct patient care, staff development, quality improvement, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Leadership:

  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing expertise and guidance on complex patient cases.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
  • Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.

Patient Care Management:

  • Facilitate competency-based learning by guiding nurses in performing patient assessments, implementing evidence-based interventions, and evaluating outcomes to ensure safe and effective care.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to design and deliver clinical teaching that reinforces interprofessional collaboration and continuity of care.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing performance, provide coaching and feedback to address clinical gaps, strengthen critical thinking, and uphold high standards of patient-centered care.

Education and Staff Development:

  • Conduct training sessions and in-service education for staff on new procedures, protocols, and equipment.
  • Identify educational needs and develop in-service training sessions and continuing education opportunities.
  • Promote professional development and certification among nursing staff.

Quality and Safety:

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational processes.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with clinical standards.
  • Monitor and analyze clinical outcomes, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to reduce adverse events and enhance patient safety.
  • Implement and monitor infection control practices to prevent hospital-acquired infections in the hospital

Mentorship and Preceptorship:

  • Mentor and precept new nurses and nursing students within the nursing department .
  • Provide hands-on training and support to enhance clinical skills and confidence.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on performance to promote professional growth.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and mentor others effectively
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical documentation systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and manage complex patient care scenarios
     

Experience:

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of continuous nursing experience in UAE or from home country
  • Minimum 1 year experience in clinical education.
  • Previous overseas experience is advantage but not required

Education:

Education Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing holding a BSc Nursing, not less than 4 years study duration
  • Current license in country of origin
  • UAE DHA License

Licenses / Certifications:

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current RN license from a recognized accredited professional body
  • Has a valid BLS, certification

Have an advanced life support certification – recommended but not a must
