Role Purpose

  • Clinical Resource Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for an individual or group of patients during a designated time frame. The nurse provides care consistent with the policies, procedures, and standards of care at FUH. Plan, direct, or coordinate the daily patient care activities in clinical practice; ensure adherence to established clinical policies, protocols, regulations, and standards; serve as a clinical resource for the Nursing Units, collaborate with nurse leaders, medical staff and nursing staff and provide clinical support to improve patient care and patient outcomes. 
  • The advanced knowledge and skills required for this role include clinical expertise in a focused area, evidence-based practice, mentoring, consultation, collaboration, education, and leadership. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical guidance and support to NICU nurses in the management of critically ill neonates.
  • Act as a clinical resource for complex neonatal cases, procedures, and emergency situations.
  • Support implementation of evidence-based nursing practices, clinical protocols, and quality initiatives.
  • Identify learning needs and facilitate clinical training, competency assessments, and bedside coaching.
  • Monitor compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, documentation, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and nursing leadership to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Support audits, quality improvement projects, incident reviews, and continuous professional development.
  • Promote a culture of safe, family-centered, and compassionate neonatal care.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Valid DHA license/eligibility.
  • Minimum 5 years of NICU experience, with strong exposure to critical neonatal care.
  • Previous experience in a clinical resource, preceptor, educator, or senior nursing role is preferred.
  • Strong clinical knowledge, communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
  • Current BLS and NRP certification; additional neonatal certifications are an advantage.
