JOB PURPOSE:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Provide comprehensive Consultant Level care for patients with complex respiratory and pulmonary disorders.
• Perform and interpret advanced interventional pulmonary procedures in accordance with international standards and hospital protocols.
• Evaluate and manage patients requiring diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopic interventions.
• Collaborate closely with Respiratory Medicine, Critical Care, Oncology, Thoracic Surgery, Radiology and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in clinical decision-making, multidisciplinary meetings and development of individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with DHA and Fakeeh Health policies.
• Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, clinical governance and evidence-based practice.
• Support teaching, mentoring and professional development of junior physicians and clinical teams.
• Maintain current knowledge of advances in Interventional Pulmonology and incorporate appropriate innovations into clinical practice.

• Diagnostic & therapeutic bronchoscopy
• Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS)
• Transbronchial biopsy
• Airway interventions & management of central airway obstruction
• Bronchial stenting
• Pleural procedures & thoracic ultrasound
• Sleep Lab experience, including sleep studies / Polysomnography and interpretation
• Assessment and management of sleep-related breathing disorders
• Management of complex airway and pulmonary conditions

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Qualifications & Experience
  • Medical Degree (MD/MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
  • Recognized Specialist/Consultant qualification in Pulmonology, Respiratory Medicine or equivalent.
  • Board Certification / Fellowship or CCT in the relevant specialty from a recognized authority.
  • Western-trained / Western Board-qualified candidates are highly desirable.
  • Current eligibility for DHA Consultant licensing or eligibility essential 
  • Minimum 7–10 years of relevant post-specialty / post-board experience, with substantial experience in Interventional Pulmonology.
  • Proven experience in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopic procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in the assessment and management of sleep-related breathing disorders, including Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
  • Experience with diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies and collaboration with multidisciplinary sleep and respiratory teams.
  • Experience in Interventional Pulmonology, including advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopic procedures.
