Position: Life Support Training Instructor

Job Overview:

  1. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Life Support Training Instructor to join our American Heart Association Training Center. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching American Heart Association-approved courses in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) to healthcare professionals in our region. This position requires a regional faculty status, which involves providing support to other training sites in the region.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct training sessions for BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP courses to healthcare professionals and HSFA to community.
  2. Ensure that all courses taught are consistent with the guidelines and standards set forth by the American Heart Association
  3. Provide hands-on training to candidates and assist them in understanding the proper techniques for resuscitation and other life support measures
  4. Evaluate candidates performance and provide feedback on their progress
  5. Collaborate with other instructors and healthcare professionals to improve the quality of the training program and conduct bed side teaching and mock drills
  6. Conduct instructor courses
  7. Maintain accurate records of all training sessions and candidates progress
  8. Collect data for KPI’s and contribute to hospital wide improvement projects
  9. Participate in faculty meetings, continuing education courses, and other training-related activities as required
  10. Provide support to other training sites in the region as a regional faculty member

Qualifications:

  1. Current certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP from the American Heart Association
  2. A minimum of two years of experience as a Life Support Training Instructor
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  5. Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
  6. Must be able to lift and move equipment as required
  7. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
  8. Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
